Gizmorift FAQ
What is Gizmorift?
Gizmorift brings friends, shared interests and everyday conversations together. Use Personal for friends, calls and files; Social for posts and communities; Nova for AI tools; and Games for a little play. Personal and Social use separate profiles.
Who built Gizmorift?
Gizmorift is independently built and operated by Rhythm.
Who is Gizmorift for?
Gizmorift is designed for friends, people with shared interests, online communities and small teams who want conversations, discussions and files in one place.
How do I start messaging someone?
Create an account with a username and password. Share your Gizmorift address or enter a friend’s address in Add a friend. Personal messaging becomes available after the friend request is accepted. Social messages follow separate rules: a follow in either direction, messages enabled for both people and no Social block.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Free includes messaging, community participation and 1 GB of personal file storage. Supporter includes 2 GB, 50 built-in stamps and a Supporter badge. Listed monthly prices are Supporter at US$1, Pro at US$5 and Ultra at US$10 (tax included). Free and Supporter may see member-sponsored image or text ads and official plan offers. Pro and Ultra ads are off by default and can be enabled in Settings. Ultra can buy ad credits at US$1 for 100 credits; each credit pays for one completed 30-second display. Pro includes 10 GB and Ultra 50 GB storage, plus plan-dependent features. Checkout options vary by region and are shown in the app; existing benefits continue until their recorded end date.
Can I try Pro before subscribing?
Eligible Free members can start one seven-day Pro trial per account from Plans and subscription. It requires a card or an eligible Apple Pay or Google Pay payment method through Stripe. After seven days, it renews at US$5 per month unless cancelled through Manage billing before the trial ends.
What does Sent mean?
Sent means Gizmorift has saved your message. It does not confirm that the recipient is online or has read it. Read receipts are optional and require the message to be visible in the open conversation. Online presence reflects foreground app activity when enabled. If a send is not confirmed, keep its content unchanged and press Send to retry.
Where are my drafts kept?
Unsent text is kept as readable text in the same browser tab, separately for each account and conversation. Reloading that tab restores the text; signing out clears it. Drafts do not sync to other devices, and selected files are not saved with them. If browser storage is unavailable, keep the tab open until you finish sending.
Are calls private and reliable?
Direct and group calls use browser WebRTC; group calls support up to eight participants. Call summaries are saved in the conversation, but the service does not record media. If the recipient has enabled push notifications, Gizmorift can send a call invitation while the app is closed, subject to browser and device support. The other participant and network providers may learn connection information. Caller identity is not independently verified and Gizmorift does not currently provide a TURN relay, so some networks may fail to connect. Calls are not recorded by the service.
Can I back up my account?
Everyone can download a basic JSON export in Settings. Pro and Ultra can create a separate encrypted account archive with authorized files, protected by an archive passphrase. Store that archive and passphrase safely. The encrypted archive is a download for safekeeping; it is not an in-app restore tool.
Can I use it on a phone or tablet?
Gizmorift runs in a web browser and includes responsive phone and tablet layouts. On a phone, the Friends list scrolls independently, and file shortcuts remain in Chats so they do not crowd the list. Choose Recently used to sort conversations by activity; new friend messages move that conversation to the top. The same account can access personal files on multiple devices. Device permissions and browser/network support affect calls.
Who can access messages and files?
Personal direct chats require an accepted friendship; groups and shared spaces require membership. Social messages have separate follow, messaging and block controls. The server stores readable messages and files so authorized accounts can access them. An operator with access to the server or its backups can access that stored content. Application administrators cannot browse private conversations through the normal admin pages. See the Security and Privacy pages for details.
What can search engines and AI assistants see?
Search engines and AI assistants can read these public information pages. They do not provide access to member conversations or personal files. Account content requires sign-in and the relevant friendship, membership or ownership permissions. Community owners can install external bots; their access is limited to the permissions granted in that community.
Are Social and community posts publicly searchable?
Social and open community posts are available to signed-in members, rather than published as search-indexable public pages. Turning off Explore discovery does not make your Social posts private. Member-only team content requires membership. Optional public-profile discovery works inside the signed-in application. Public community identities do not link to private chat usernames, addresses, photos or friendships. The operator can associate both identities; reused details and previously disclosed identities can still identify someone.
Does Gizmorift include AI?
Yes. Nova provides AI chat and creative tools through Venice and, for some models, upstream providers. Review the cost and processing category before sending. Nova keeps readable prompts and results in your account library; you can delete results there. Separately, communities have a rule-based helper and an API for external developer bots. Private chats are not automatically sent to Nova.

Where can I find official information?
